Beagle Galapagos Motor Sail
The Beagle First Class Motor Sail, a cozy and well-proportioned yacht, with classic styling and teak decks, offers everything you need for a great Galapagos cruise booking. This sailing ship generally travels the islands on motor power, but when the winds are right, you will travel back in time to the days when the great schooners traversed the archipelago. Enjoy the sun or stretch out on the yoga mats in the shade on the upper deck, research your favorite Galapagos fauna in the library or join your partner or new-found friend for a drink at the bar. This 12-passenger schooner is the perfect size for a charter – if you’re into kayaking ask about their special departures – and also works for couples, groups and singles, who are able to travel with no single supplement if they are willing to share a cabin or with a relatively low supplement (40%) if they prefer their own cabin. The crew of 6 includes one bilingual naturalist guide.
Family owned and operated, the Beagle Galapagos Sailor is one of the few Galapagos vessels to have earned a Smart Voyager certificate, in recognition of its sound conservation practices. Delicious meals are prepared with primarily locally produced goods and services and the owners contribute annually to numerous community projects, including a local school on Santa Cruz Island. It has a stellar reputation as a conservation-minded operation. Snorkel equipment is available on board but many guests prefer to bring their own in order to enhance their Galapagos snorkeling experience. Special diets can be accommodated with advanced notice.
The Beagle Motor Sail features 7 cabins: 6 cabins offer a bunk arrangement, with a double bed below and a twin bunk bed above; and the 7th cabin, slightly smaller, offers two twin bunk beds, perfect for solo travelers. All cabins are air-conditioned and have private bathrooms with hot-cold showers.
